About
A walk-in creative arts studio.
Paint a Piece has been inspiring Germantown for over 26 years. Walk in any time to paint pottery, canvas or wood door hangers — no class or reservation needed. Pick a piece, choose your colors, and we'll show you our brushes, stamps, silkscreens, stencils and idea books, or teach you to trace any design. We glaze and fire your pottery; it's ready to pick up 3–5 days later. Canvas and door hangers go home with you the same day.
Coming with a group?
Walk-in groups of fewer than 6 are welcome any time. Groups of 6–8 can save a seat online. During busy times, especially weekends, each group has a 2-hour window from arrival to check-out. Everyone in your group needs a seat, and we can't seat more than 8 together in the main studio. Larger groups: book the VIP Room.
Parties
Kids' pottery, canvas and door hanger parties and grown-up parties in our VIP Room, which seats up to 18. Birthdays, bridal and baby showers, graduations, girls' night out — bring food and drink, and our party host takes care of setup and clean-up. You can also rent the whole studio (up to 66 people) for after-hours or large groups; after-hours groups have a $350 minimum. No coupons on VIP Room parties.
We paint it for you
Custom hand and footprint pottery, clay impressions and custom painted pieces. Tell us the colors and design and we'll do the rest.
Groups and fundraising
Field trips — we come to you with 25 or more painters, or bring your group to the studio. Scout badges, corporate team building, and school fundraisers (class projects, tile walls, auction pieces, school days at the studio).
Summer art camps for kids entering 1st grade and up.

Save us a seat
Book a table in our main studio and paint your own piece, with the time and table space set aside for your group.
Who it is for
• Groups of 6 to 8 painters. Reservations are not taken for groups under 6.
• Up to one non-painter in your group. Non-painters need a seat too, so count them when you book.
Good to know
• The 2 hours run from your reservation time, not from when you arrive, so please arrive on time.
• Reserved tables are held for 10 minutes. After that they go to walk-in or wait-list customers.
• During peak times, groups must adhere to a 2-hour time limit so the next reservation or walk-in can be seated.
• Only two tables are available for reservations. The rest are for walk-in painters.
• Groups larger than 8 cannot be seated in the main studio. For a larger group, call the studio about the VIP Party Room or a before or after hours party.
• On weekends and during school breaks, groups requesting more than 8 seats will be moved to a private party in the VIP room or reservation will be cancelled. Please call us at the studio to inquire about booking more than 8 seats.
• Need to change your time or running late? Call 901.754.0884 and we will adjust your reservation.
• Groups smaller than 6: call the studio before your visit to ask about call-ahead seating at 901.754.0884, or walk in.

Custom Prints Appointment
Custom Painted Print Pottery Appointments
Please note: This appointment is NOT for Clay Impressions. It is for our painted handprint and footprint pottery only.
Create a one-of-a-kind gift or keepsake! ❤️ These custom print pieces are so adorable, they're often too cute to give away.
Here's how it works:
• Schedule your appointment.
• Stop by the studio and let our Print Pros capture the perfect handprints and footprints.
• Leave the painting and finishing to us!
We welcome all ages, from newborns to grandparents. Your finished pieces will be ready for pickup approximately 4 weeks after your appointment.

Pricing
To keep appointments running smoothly, pricing is based on the pottery piece and the design you choose.
• Pottery pieces generally range from $30–80
• Custom painting ranges from $25–55, depending on the size and design
Changing design colors or requesting custom wording (other than names) may result in an additional charge.
A link to our current pricing guide will be included in your confirmation email. We encourage you to look through it before your appointment so you'll already have an idea of which pieces you'd like to use.
Appointment Information
Appointments are scheduled every 30 minutes, so please arrive on time. If you're running late or need to make a change, please call us at 901-754-0884.
If you need to cancel, we appreciate at least 24 hours' notice so we can offer your appointment to another family.
How Many Time Slots Do I Need?
One appointment time is usually enough for up to two pieces. If you plan to do more than two pieces, please reserve additional appointment time.
These appointments are intended for selecting from our existing custom print designs. If you have a completely custom idea or special request, please include it in the notes when booking so we can let you know if it's possible.
Bringing Friends?
We love that our print appointments have become a fun outing! However, we do not recommend booking large mom-and-kid groups where everyone plans to have custom prints done during the same appointment.
Each child's prints require individual attention, and one family always ends up waiting while we work with everyone else. Long waits can be difficult for little ones and often make the experience stressful for both families and our staff.
If several families would like custom print pottery, we recommend booking back-to-back appointment times or visiting on different days so every child gets the attention they deserve and everyone has a more enjoyable experience.
Appointment Deposit
A $25 appointment deposit is required to reserve your custom print appointment.
Your entire deposit will be applied toward your custom print purchase during your appointment, so it's not an additional fee—it's simply a credit toward your order.
Because each appointment reserves dedicated time with one of our Print Pros, the deposit helps us reduce no-shows and keep appointment times available for families who are ready to create their keepsakes.
We completely understand that little ones get sick and unexpected things happen. If you need to reschedule, simply let us know as soon as you're able. As long as we hear from you before your appointment, we'll happily transfer your deposit to a future appointment or a store credit to create your own pottery piece.
Deposits may be forfeited for missed appointments or no-shows without notice.
Parties

Kids Door Hanger Painting Party
Includes up to 8 painters. Additional painters are $27 each (up to 10 more).
Each painter sketches and paints one 12" door hanger, choosing a shape from our selection when they arrive (shapes are subject to availability).
Recommended for ages 10 and up. Our latex paints will stain clothing, so dress for mess; aprons are provided.
You get a private party room and staff to help, and we clean up the mess. Every guest goes home with their own original work of art.
What's included:
• 1.5 hours in our private VIP Party Room
• Helium balloons (1 per painter)
• Customized birthday plate for the guest of honor
• One door hanger per painter, plus all paint and supplies
• Staff assistance and instruction
• Space for cake and presents, plus use of the VIP room fridge and freezer
Door hangers go home the same day and may still be a little wet, so plan room to lay them flat in your car (we provide butcher paper). The birthday plate is ready for pickup 5-7 days later. A $50 non-refundable deposit is charged at booking and applied to your party balance. You'll get party rules to agree to when you book, and an email with directions and a sample schedule afterwards.

Private Party, 1½ hours

Perfect for tween/teen parties not wanting one of our normal birthday party packages or a quick girls night out. For adult groups wanting time to eat, chat and paint we recommend the 2 hour party and not this option.
• All private parties require a $35-50 party fee depending on your group size. This fee reserves your space in the party room, provides you with a Paint a Piece party host(s), and help with setup and cleanup/sanitizing after your party . This fee is required at time of booking.
• Minimum of $180 purchase (pre-tax) for small groups during business hours.
• Minimum of $350 purchase (pre-tax) for large groups requiring the use of the main studio during business hours and we would need to close 1 hour early or party is held after hours.
• No studio fees and pottery pieces range from $15-75
• This is for a 1.5 hours in our private party room. You may arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time to setup and prepare for party guests. Please encourage guests to be on time since they only have so much time to finish their creations and another party will be using the room after your allotted 1.5 hours. You will be charged an additional $15 if your group stays for the 2 hour time slot, but only booked a 1.5 hour party.
• All private parties require a $35-50 party fee. This fee provides you with a Paint a Piece party host, and help with setup and cleanup after your party. This fee is required at time of booking.
• Minimum of $180 total (pre-tax) must be met by your party for this type of party booking in our VIP room.
• You choose if party host is paying for the entire party or attendees are paying individually (let us know this in the additional notes at checkout)
• No studio fees, Pottery pieces range from $15-$75
• Our VIP room has plenty of space to bring food, drink and paper products OR have your event catered. Note: please keep your time reserved in mind when planning elaborate food spreads.
• There is a fridge and freezer available for your use in the party room, so no need to worry about coolers.
Seats 8-16 adults. If you have more than 16 painters please let us know so we can plan to accommodate you in our main studio.
• For simplicity and flow of the party, we recommend food be consumed at the beginning or end of the party while party goers are not painting. If food is being served while painting, the food needs to not be greasy as this will leave fingerprints on the pieces that will cause the paint to not stick and could cause the clear glaze to peel back on pieces.Due to changes in preferences of parties since COVID, Paint a Piece staff will not handle or distribute food to be consumed by party guests.
• You will have one long countertop to use for party food and/or drinks. You are welcome to bring balloons and small decorations to decorate this "table". A long rectangle party tablecloth works for this . Decorations and themed paper supplies can be placed on the party table, but CANNOT be hung on walls.
• No pinatas, noise makers, bouncy balls or silly string allowed.
• Please understand that we need accurate information about your event to adequately staff the studio and schedule other parties before/after yours. If any information changes at any time, please inform us right away so we can better serve you and our other studio guests.
Terms and conditions:
